Marketing Executive UK

  • On-site

Job description

Why we are here
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes an impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate.

What you will do

We are looking for a new Marketing Executive to join our UK and Ireland Marketing team based in Richmond. Your #1 mission will be to increase brand awareness for Tony’s Chocolonely and issue awareness of the bitter truth of the chocolate industry. You will work across the whole of the marketing team, with particular focus on social media, where you will bring creative flair, buzz, and make impact across our social channels.

It is an exciting time to be a part of the team as we redefine our strategy for growth across our owned channels, and you get to make it happen!  You will be the one catching relevant trends, creating engaging content from scratch, developing an inspiring social calendar, and delivering best-in-class community management (aka becoming besties with our Choco Fans). You will also drive earned reach via social media influencers (we call them Serious Friends) and support the wider team by executing brand partnerships and working with our student ambassadors.

You will be a crucial part of the UK marketing team and report directly to the Communications Lead UK&I. This is a unique opportunity for a communications superstar who wants to make their mark and real impact at a high-growth, purpose-led food business.

All wrapped up

  • You will craft and execute a captivating social calendar with a special focus on TikTok and Instagram video content. Your storytelling skills will help build brand and issue awareness, creating a lasting impact on our growing community.

  • You are our in-house social media expert. You stay on top of emerging social media trends and platforms, providing instant insights to seize content opportunities. Your role involves preparing monthly reports, analysing campaign performance data, and offering deep community insights to shape our communications strategy.

  • You forge and maintain relationships with influencers, old and new and execute impactful gifting campaigns to drive user-generated content. Your ability to respond to our Serious Friends with a delightful tone of voice and content will not only make them smile but also strengthen our brand equity.

  • You will act as the voice of our brand, fostering meaningful connections with our followers and brand advocates through exceptional community management. Monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and mentions, ensuring timely and authentic interactions.

  • You keep a close eye on the performance data and are ready to provide community insights at any time to help build out communications, campaigns, new product reports, and more.

  • You will support the wider marketing team with ad hoc administrative tasks, sampling opportunities, partnership projects, our student ambasador program and trade marketing events.

Job requirements

Our ideal New Edition

  • You have strong experience in digital/social media marketing – particularly TikTok and Instagram. Your passion, curiosity and drive to learn more about the digital landscape is unparaleled.

  • Confidence in using video editing software, Adobe Suite and scheduling software is a strong preference so do let us know which programs you have good experience using.

  • It’s also a bonus if you are confident running paid campaigns on Instagram and TikTok.

  • You are bursting with creative and innovative ideas to elevate our owned channels.

  • You are organized and smoothly juggle multiple tasks effortlessly and are happy getting stuck into a range of projects across marketing.

  • You excel at adjusting tone of voice, language, and the brand story depending on the communication channel and audience. You have a keen eye for detail, and you spot typos from a mile away.

  • You love connecting with fans via social media – it gives you energy vs being something you ‘have to do’.

  • You believe wholeheartedly in Tony’s mission. You live our core values: outspoken, wilful, entrepreneurial and makes you smile.

  • Raise the bar. You challenge yourself and Team Tony’s to increase our ambition and to accomplish our mission. Make mistakes along the way and learn from them.

  • You are keen to work either fully from our Richmond office or in a hybrid set-up (at least 2-3 days a week from the office).

Our benefits (the icing on the cake)

At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first and foremost, by making a real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We’re dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable quarterly events, and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate won’t cover the bills, so we’ve made sure your salary is just as rewarding. For this role that means a salary between £34-43k on a yearly basis.

Sounds like you?

Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Look no further! If you're ready to take the chocolate industry to new heights with us, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your direct application, no agencies. We can't wait to hear from you!

Everybody is welcome to apply. From classics to limited editions, we know that different flavors make life more inspiring. And not just in our chocolate assortment. At Tony’s, we welcome everyone with equal enthusiasm – regardless of race, colour, age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, or veteran status. Crazy about chocolate, serious about people.
