Logistics Manager, Europe
- Hybrid
Job description
It’s holiday season at Tony’s! 🍫☀️ We’re a bit slower on replies right now, but your application is important to us, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience and wish you sunny summer days!
Why we are here
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.
What you will do
We’re looking for a Logistics Manager, Europe to join our Operations team to bring deep logistics expertise into our growing operations team! You’ll be responsible for managing our central third-party logistics (3PL) and transport partners, ensuring service level agreements are met, and leading contract negotiations. Additionally, you’ll oversee transport providers across Europe, manage the inbound logistics budget, and identify cost-saving opportunities across the network.
Beyond operational excellence, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our logistics landscape. You’ll lead continuous improvement and optimization projects, provide market insights to local teams, and act as a reliable backup for the logistics planner when needed. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic growth environment, balances strategic thinking with operational rigor, and is excited to build and scale logistics capabilities across Europe. You will report to our Head of Planning and Operations, Europe and lead, coach and mentor our Logistics & Transport Coordinator.
All wrapped up, you will
Manage the implementation of a new central 3PL in Belgium and manage the transition from the current provider, ensuring seamless service throughout.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with 3PL and transport providers, including performance monitoring and contract management.
Run tenders and set up contracts for European transport companies.
Define and execute the European transport strategy, ensuring business continuity to regions, including DACH, UK&I, and Nordics.
Own the inbound logistics budget: from initial setting to monthly tracking, accruals, and quarterly reforecasting.
Analyze logistics spend and network performance to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
Provide logistics and transport industry insights to support local market negotiations and strategic decisions.
Drive operational excellence by improving processes, supporting automation, and collaborating with IT and BI teams.
Champion sustainability by identifying and implementing CO₂ reduction strategies in the logistics network.
Job requirements
Our new flavor:
Several years of previous work experience with 3PLs as well as creating and implementing logistics strategies.
Deep understanding of the logistics and transport market in Europe - You are seen as a trusted expert in the industry and stay up to date with the recent developments.
You’re a confident negotiator, skilled at securing the best outcomes with 3PLs and transport partners.
You are a data-driven decision maker who utilizes data to identify process improvements and make objective, informed decisions.
Strong business understanding and strategic mindset - ability to see the big picture, but not afraid to roll up your sleeves to ensure brilliant execution.
Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills in English with ability to influence decision making on various levels of the organization.
Eagerness to work in a fast-paced scaleup environment, bringing clarity and cohesion across diverse teams.
Very strong project management skills - ability to balance priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders with care and clarity.
Advanced Excel skills.
Bonus points if you have previous experience in the FMCG industry, working with cold chain logistics or speak Dutch!
We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!
Believe wholeheartedly in Tony’s purpose. You live our core values: outspoken, in it together, entrepreneurial, raise the bar and makes you smile.
Our benefits (the icing on the cake)
At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first and foremost, by making real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We’re dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a luxurious vega-lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable events and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate won’t cover the bills, so we’ve made sure your salary is just as rewarding, for this role that means a salary between 63k and 78.5k on a yearly basis, including holiday pay.
Sounds like you?
