Tony’s Chocolonely is on a mission to end exploitation in cocoa. Full stop. 
We’re an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes an impact. And to drive that mission forward, our Legal team plays a key role in making sure our ways of working are solid, scalable and supportive of responsible growth. 

We’re currently rolling out a brand-new Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, a big step in professionalising how we work across teams. And that’s where you come in! 
We’re looking for a Legal Operations Intern to join our Legal team in Amsterdam. If you’re excited about legal tech, process design, contract workflows and making legal operations run smoothly, this is your backstage pass. 

Here’s what you’ll learn:  

• Legal operations & contract management. Get real hands-on experience implementing and optimising a CLM tool in a fast-growing international company. 

• Process automation & workflow design. Learn to design workflows, approval routes, metadata structures and categories that shape how legal work actually gets done. 

• Process mapping & improvement. Develop the skills to map current processes, spot inefficiencies, and redesign them for clarity, consistency and risk reduction. 

• Commercial contracting fundamentals. Build knowledge of contract types (NDAs, supplier agreements, marketing agreements and more) and understand key legal terms and drafting principles. 

• Communication, legal project management & change management. Learn how to prepare training materials, support users, and communicate legal processes to nonlegal teams in a clear, friendly way. 

• Legal tech insights. Discover how to identify automation opportunities and help move a legal department from manual to smart, tech enabled working. 

Here’s what you’ll do:  

As we’re in the middle of implementing a new CLM system, most of your work will directly support this project, meaning real responsibility and real impact. You will: 

• Map all contract types and legal documents across Tony’s (NDAs, supply agreements, marketing agreements, and more). 

• Analyse and improve contract processes together with Legal and cross functional stakeholders like Procurement, Sales, and People & Culture. 

• Configure the CLM system, set up workflows, approval processes, categories, metadata and templates. 

• Test system features, identify improvements, share ideas and help shape a great user experience.  

• Document processes and create manuals for future users. 

• Support change management, help create training materials, internal comms and onboarding content for the new system. 

• Explore further legal tech opportunities to help the Legal team work smarter, not harder. 

• Contribute to broader Legal Ops work, supporting the team in professionalising legal operations with a strong legal-tech lens. 

Job requirements:  

• You’re studying Law, Legal Management, Legal Operations, Legal Tech or a related field. 

• Raise the bar. Challenge yourself and team Tony’s to increase our ambition and to accomplish our mission. Make mistakes along the way and learn from them.

Here are the hard facts:  

• Starting on September 1st, you'll be part of our Tony's team for 6 months.  

• We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in our Amsterdam office on average 3 days a week. More is fine!  

• You’ll be living in the Netherlands and enrolled in a school for the duration of the internship.

• You'll have 14 vacation days over the six-month period, and we'll provide you with a monthly €550 internship allowance for a full-time (40 h) internship.  

• Our office in Amsterdam Houthavens is a pretty sweet workplace - you'll enjoy a fresh and tasty lunch, and plenty of snacks. We know how to work hard, but we also know how to have fun. And of course, you get to take home as much chocolate as you can carry.
