Grocery Controller, UK
- Hybrid
Job description
Why we are here
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.
What you will do
We are looking for an experienced Grocery Controller to join our UK team in London. You’ll lead a dynamic team in one of our fastest-growing regions and drive sustainable commercial growth across the grocery channel. You’re responsible for setting a strong channel focus and exceeding sales targets. You’ll also have indirect responsibility for one of our fastest-growing e-commerce accounts in Amazon. You’ll motivate, engage and inspire the team of 3 to achieve our commercial goals, helping Tony’s make an even bigger positive impact in the world of cocoa. You will be working from our Richmond office and report to the Head of Sales UK & Ireland.
All wrapped up, you will
Establish Tony's as a top brand in the UK grocery channel by expanding distribution, increasing visibility, and securing prime shelf space alongside major chocolate brands.
Lead and develop a high performing, engaged sales team with clear goals, optimised processes, and tailored development plans.
Set and execute a winning grocery sales strategy aligned with Tony’s vision.
Deliver strong business performance by turning data into killer insights and ensuring accurate forecasting.
Ensure stakeholder alignment by inspiring the team and customers to deliver on Tony's strategy.
Act as the central communicator across grocery, operations, marketing, and category teams, championing strategic priorities.
Job requirements
Demonstrated success in consistently delivering and exceeding commercial targets.
Deep understanding of the FMCG market and grocery channel, ideally with experience working with Tesco.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to set direction, inspire and motivate a high-performing team.
Tenacity and resilience in overcoming setbacks, with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills in English, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities, simplifying complex challenges into clear, actionable solutions.
Eagerness to work in a fast-paced scaleup environment, bringing clarity and cohesion across diverse teams.
We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the Richmond office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!
You believe wholeheartedly in Tony’s purpose. You live our core values: outspoken, in it together, entrepreneurial, raise the bar and makes you smile.
Our benefits (the icing on the cake)
At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first and foremost, by making a real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We’re dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, and coaching. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a lunch at the office, minimum of 28 annual holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable quarterly events, and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate won’t cover the bills, so we’ve made sure your salary is just as rewarding. For this role that means an annual salary between £64k and £80k plus a car benefit.
Sounds like you?
