Artwork & Portfolio Specialist

  • Hybrid

Job description

Why we are here
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.

What you will do
We are looking for an Artwork & Portfolio Specialist to drive continuous improvement of our global product portfolio (300+ SKUs) and own Tony's artwork ecosystem, enabling scalable growth across markets.

Working closely with Creative, Quality & Food Safety, Planning, and external partners, you will lead the translation of approved designs into print-ready artworks. But you will also go beyond artwork execution and take end-to-end responsibility for how labels and portfolio processes support our global and local ambitions. A key part of your role will be to raise the bar for print quality, color consistency, and packaging design excellence, while contributing to the mid- and long-term packaging design roadmap. You will lead portfolio discontinuations; the development of scalable frameworks; and ensure that product launches, design updates, and limited editions are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in line with regulatory standards.

As an Artwork & Portfolio Specialist, you bring clarity to complexity, build scalable processes, and align with a wide range of stakeholders across markets and functions. This is a highly cross-functional, global role within the Product team, reporting to the Head of Product Delivery.

All wrapped up

  • Own the artwork-to-print process: Lead and continuously improve end-to-end artwork processes, ensuring best-in-class ways of working internally and externally with agencies and packaging suppliers.

  • Champion print quality & packaging design excellence: Bring expertise to elevate label quality on shelf, connecting designers, packaging experts, and printers, and driving a roadmap for color, print techniques, and innovation.

  • Ensure label accuracy & compliance: Own version control and artwork governance, create regulatory briefs with Quality & Food Safety, manage external agencies, and approve final artworks.

  • Manage portfolio optimization initiatives: Lead continuous improvement across the portfolio, including product rollouts, packaging design updates, and discontinuations, ensuring timely and aligned execution across teams.

  • Build scalable tools & processes: Set up workflows, templates, and documentation; onboard and train global stakeholders; and improve adoption of our artwork tool.

  • Elevate systems & performance tracking: Collaborate on artwork system improvements, define KPIs, and build dashboards to track pipeline performance and delivery.

  • Influence cross-functional alignment: Facilitate forums and align senior stakeholders on priorities, packaging design quality standards, and long-term direction.

Job requirements

Our new flavor:

  • Proven experience in artwork, packaging, portfolio management, or product operations within FMCG or a similarly complex environment

  • Strong project management skills, preferably in FMCG

  • Experience with artwork systems/tools and an understanding of packaging workflows (experience with tools like SpecRight is a plus)

  • Understanding of printing techniques, color management, and pre-press processes

  • Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills in English. You will work with stakeholders from all evels, internally and externally.

  • A proactive mindset, always looking for opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.

  • Sharp eye for detail to ensure artwork consistency and regulatory adherence.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Able to simplify the complex: you can oversee all the details but convey them in one simple message.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety or eagerness to learn.

  • Adaptability: you are happy to work in a fast-paced scale-up environment, bringing clarity and cohesion across diverse teams.

  • We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!

  • Believe wholeheartedly in Tony's purpose. You live our core values: outspoken, in it together, entrepreneurial, raise the bar, and makes you smile.
