Job description

We're looking for a Category and Trade Marketing Manager to join our DACH team in Hamburg. In this role, your goal is to manage our DACH category data and turn it into killer insights, that will help develop Tony's brand with our retail partners and bring our mission across on trade.


Your category knowledge and expertise in spotting trends, watchouts, and growth opportunities will help us to stay ahead of the curve and increase our presence with new and existing customers. You will support our campaigns with solid and impactful POS materials on trade.


You will be part of the marketing team based in Hamburg and report directly to the Head of Marketing DACH. You will also connect the dots between sales and marketing and collaborate closely with various teams to gather and shape recommendations and best practices.


Here's what you'll do:

  • Manage all our DACH data and insight sources, reporting systems and contracts, enabling us to make the right decisions. You conduct thorough analysis of the German and Austrian chocolate market by utilizing multiple data sources and identify emerging trends and growth opportunities.
  • Turn the category data into actionable yet strategic insights and initiatives for the sales and marketing teams. You keep key stakeholders informed of our performance in the market.
  • Create impact on trade with POS materials. You enhance our current set of tools and bring our brand and campaigns to life in the retail stores. You will collaborate with marketing in translating campaigns and new product launches into impactful and executable shelf solutions.
  • Effectively manage the category and trade marketing budgets.
  • Participate in trade fairs in Germany and Austria, and make sure our Tony's booth represents the brand in the most appealing way.
  • Collaborate with the commercial and marketing teams to formulate clear recommendations for the grocery business. You initiate and evaluate tests based on product, price, promotion, and place, and implement successful strategies nationally.

Job requirements

  • You have a solid knowledge of the FMCG industry and at least 4+ years of category experience in a commercial role, preferably in the food & beverage industry.
  • You have a proven track record of delivering results and can point to significant insight-led wins and projects helping drive value in your business.
  • You enjoy being ahead of the game by being an action-oriented self-starter. You are results-driven and eager to undertake projects on your own initiative while being open, empathetic and collaborative.
  • You dare to think big, make choices and develop a clear plan for your market. Achieving big ambitions means achieving more impact!
  • You are a great communicator and are comfortable building and presenting data, making firm and insightful recommendations as you go.
  • Since you will collaborate with clients based in the German region, your German language skills are fluent. You are also part of an international Tony’s team, so you are comfortable with English.
