We are on the hunt for our new Quality and Food Safety intern to join our team based in Amsterdam!  Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards in food safety and quality? Are you eager to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of FMCG?  Come join the Quality and Food Safety team as our new intern and embark on a journey that will not only enhance your expertise in quality assurance but also provide you with invaluable insights into the booming food sector!

As a Quality and Food Safety Intern, you'll help manage technical product data, ensuring accurate ingredients, nutritional values, allergens, and recipes. You'll support in interpreting regulatory reports and learn about food law and product labelling requirements. You'll help conduct food safety risk assessments and predict hazards. Additionally, you'll gain hands-on experience by visiting a chocolate factory, attending NPD and HACCP meetings, participating in improvement projects, conducting product testing and answering technical product questions. You will learn about managing recalls and food safety issues.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Help with Specification Management tasks in Eclarion, e.g. setting up a final product specifications or inputting ingredients in different languages, adding product info.
  • Assist with setting up label debriefs for Product Label regulatory input.
  • Help check Product Labels on correct regulatory product information.
  • Collaborate with database on HACCP risk assessment on ingredients and packaging.
  • Attend New Product Development project meetings.
  • Attend customer service meetings on complaint management.
  • Assist in product testing (external product analysis, shelf-life testing).
  • Support in answering consumer questions on technical product information.

Job requirements

  • You’re studying for a Bachelor’s/Masters degree in Food Science, Food Technology or Nutrition.
  • You are fluent in both English and Dutch.
  • You are analytical and detail oriented.

Here are the hard facts:

  • Starting on September 2nd, you'll be part of our dynamic and passionate team until February 28th.
  • We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in our Amsterdam office on average 3 days a week. More is fine!
  • You’ll be living in the Netherlands for the duration of the internship.
