We're on the hunt for a Product Project Manager US to join our team in New York! As our new Product Project Manager, you'll be at the forefront of driving impactful projects that deliver our product strategy for all our chocolate products created by the innovation and renovation team. Your #1 goal will be to run innovation projects on time, on brief and on budget to develop the global Tony's product portfolio, as Tony’s products are the driving force behind commercial success, profitable growth, and impact. 


You know how to manage NPD projects, you love to plan ahead and communicate with flair to your project team members and other stakeholders. In case of challenges, you do not shy away and always make sure you find the right solution to tackle them with a smile.  In this exciting role, you will have the chance to foster a culture of excellence in project execution throughout the team. This role has no direct reports and reports directly to the Project & Portfolio Management Lead based in Amsterdam. You will work closely with the US Brand director who owns the innovation strategy and will generate the US specific innovation and repacking ideas, that you will execute with your project cross-functional teams. 


Here is what you will do:  

  • Manage projects for all potential work streams, including the development of project plans, timelines, budgets, scope, goals, and deliverables, ensuring smooth delivery on time, within budget, and meeting business case requirements. 
  • Lead the New Product Development (NPD) project through Tony’s stage gate process from stage A to E. 
  • Coordinate multiple cross-functional project teams, including product/packaging development, product marketing, sourcing, factory/co-man, planning, quality, creative, lead market marketing manager, and comms, ensuring collaboration and alignment between teams. 
  • Monitor project progress, identify issues, and resolve them with the team, actively managing risks and mitigating actions, including preparation of proposals for decision-making. 
  • Lead stakeholder management within internal and external communication regarding projects, serving as the primary point of contact for communication from global teams to US market teams, collecting inputs and feedback as needed. 
  • Share timely and accurate information with the US Brand Director for communication to the wider US team. 
  • Oversee the delivery of artworks from approved design to printed artwork, ensuring crucial printing deadlines are met. 
  • Create artwork briefings for internal and external teams involved in the artwork process.

  • Next to being excellent in execution and being hands-on you will serve as the local guardian of Tony’s Stage Gate Innovation process, promoting its usage, templates, and routines with local US functions.
  • Train cross-functional teams on the innovation process to onboard new team members and provide refresher training as needed.

Job requirements

  • Around 5 years of experience leading multiple high-visibility and complex physical product innovation projects overseeing the entire process from ideation to launch within the FMCG industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior business partners of diverse backgrounds and communication styles.
  • Ability to foster a culture of project management within an organization.
