What you will do  
As a Category Manager (5-month contract from 1st of December till end of April as a Maternity cover) at Tony's Chocolonely, you’ll establish Tony’s as a key category partner for our customers in the Benelux region. You’ll leverage market data, including Nielsen insights, to craft strategies that drive growth in revenue, profit, and market share for both Tony’s and our retail partners. Working closely with the Benelux Sales team and reporting to the Category Management Lead, you'll optimize shelf presence, enhance promotional effectiveness, and ensure that our category vision is executed effectively and delivers significant impact.

  • Translate market insights, trends, and data into actionable insights to strengthen Tony’s position as a top category partner. 
  • Analyze customer and shopper insights using Nielsen data to identify trends and drive data-driven decision making in our (leadership) team. 
  • Advise retail partners on assortment optimization and strategies to maximize category growth. 
  • Develop trade decks and promotional strategies in collaboration with the marketing- and sales team, ensuring alignment for new product launches and seasonal products.  
  • Provide cross-functional support, assisting account managers and marketing teams with customer presentations, budget inputs, and strategy execution. 

Job requirements

Our perfect New Edition   

  • 2 years of experience in Category Management or a similar role like Trade Marketing, preferably in FMCG or a big consumer brand with a focus on driving in store visibility, optimizing product placement, and increasing category growth. 
  • Experience with Nielsen data and advanced analytics tools, such as price and promo elasticity, to inform strategic decisions. 
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and the ability to interpret complex market and sales data, while translating this into dummy-proof presentations. 
  • Basic understanding of P&L statements and experience in assessing the financial impact of category decisions. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong relationships with retail partners and stakeholders. 
  • We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!
